Snow at Porthcothan
So…we got all excited. Snow coming to Cornwall at last according to the weather forecast. Well here it is – Porthcothan snow for the winter of 2014/15. Three very disappointed kids….
Going on holiday with young children can be quite a challenge. So much to pack – change mats/ highchairs/ cots/ bath seats. How will it all fit in the car? Don’t sweat it! We can provide all off these free of charge, giving you more space to bring what the little ones are really interested in – buckets and spades!
Its nearly that time of year when we get to tell our darling dads how much we love them. Why not suprise yours with a fantastic holiday in sunny Cornwall? What amazing weather we are having, and how clear is the sea right now! We have just been snorkelling off Bedruthan Steps and caught 5 spider crabs for supper. Delicious washed down with a cold bottle of white wine. You’ve seen it on Rick Stein – now come and do it for yourself…We have a couple of weeks still available this summer. Grab a wetsuit and a snorkel and mask, head down to Cornwall, and you could be enjoying incredible free seafood too!
Not long now until Padstow May Day. It is held on the 1st May and is truly a spectacle to behold. The men, women and children of Padstow take to the streets dressed in their whites, armed with their melodiums and drums, following their beloved ‘obby ‘oss. There is a red ‘os (the old ‘oss), and a blue ‘oss (the peace ‘oss), that whirls and dances through the narrow streets to the incredible beat of the May Song. The streets are adorned with flags and trees, as well as the beautiful maypole.This is an ancient pagan fertility festival – beware if you get taken underneath the ‘oss. I was seized twice one year, and now have twins!!

We have been up and running as a new business for a year now. We hope we have already given many people a wonderful holiday near Porthcothan Bay on the beautiful north Cornwall coast.
We really hope you like it, and look forward to welcoming you at our lovely cottages. Its a perfect time of year for a break in this stunning part of the world. Spring has sprung, the primroses, bluebells, and cowslips are out. Our walking boots have been in full use, enjoying the wonders of the SW coast path we are lucky enough to have on our doorstep. Come and join us!
Thanks for a brilliant holiday. 2 weeks of sunshine, beach life and BBQs! We love the changes you have made especially all the new furnishings. The cottage was really clean and comfortable, and the new beds are great. The first thing I will be doing when I get home is ordering myself a new bed. We slept so well!
